Disability Categories Definitions and Criteria for DiagnosisSSD serves students with virtually every type of special
need as determined by state eligibility criteria. In addition, SSD provides
related services, such as speech/language therapy. According to Appendix
A of the Missouri State Plan, the definitions and criteria for diagnosis
for each of the 14 disability categories are:
