Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD) is a leader in providing special education services to students with disabilities. The district also operates two technical high schools that provide a wide range of career and technical education programs to area students.

SSD Schools Closed, Board Meeting Canceled
Due to inclement weather, SSD schools and programs are closed Tuesday, Feb. 9. The Board of Education meeting has also been cancelled.

Public Review Committee Seeks Input
Under Senate Bill 687, a Public Review Committee is appointed every four years to review the operations of the Special School District (SSD) and to make recommendations for improvement. The committee is soliciting information from the public and interested parties in a variety of ways, including at three public forums and at the beginning of each regularly scheduled meeting. H1N1 Flu Information Available
For updates and information on H1N1 flu, visit the SSD H1N1 Resource Center. The Saint Louis County Department of Health is offering free H1N1 vaccine to St. Louis County residents. Read more.
